Veterinary services in East Anglia, with a love of all things exotic
At Suffolk Exotic Vets we are committed to providing comprehensive laboratory services for your exotic pets, ensuring prompt and accurate assessments of their health.
About our laboratory services
Our laboratory services comprise both in-house and specialised external laboratory facilities. In-house, we offer microscopy examination of faeces, urine, and skin scrapes. We also collaborate with external specialists to provide an array of in-depth laboratory services for exotic and zoo animals.
Our Laboratory Services are indispensable for the well-being of your exotic pets:
- In-house testing: We can swiftly check for parasites, including worms, fleas, mites, and coccidia, ensuring early detection and treatment.
- Urinalysis and crystals: We provide comprehensive urinalysis, identifying crystals and potential issues with your pet’s urinary tract.
- Rapid blood tests: Our blood tests offer a comprehensive overview of organ function, enabling the early detection of specific diseases or illnesses when correlated with clinical signs.
Please be aware that, in some cases, obtaining a blood sample may require a brief gas anesthetic or injectable sedation for your pet. The need for laboratory investigations will be determined on a case-by-case basis, taking into account clinical signs and the patient’s stability.
Your vet will assess and provide a quote for laboratory testing as necessary, ensuring your pet’s health and comfort. If you have any questions or concerns about our laboratory facilities, please do not hesitate to contact us. Your pet’s health and well-being are our top priorities, and we’re here to provide the best possible care.
